Founded by childhood friends Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge in 2007, Alo Yoga was launched to inspire mindful movement. The Los-Angeles-based brand aims to spread the reach of yoga far and wide, believing in its ability to improve lives. Alo Yoga’s Creative Director is Alyson Wilson, and the company creates apparel for men and women, as well as shoes, accessories, yoga gear and beauty collections.
Producing high-performance wear for yoga and other sports is, of course, at the heart of the brand. However, Alo Yoga also puts style and wearability at the top of their priority list, to produce clothing that can be taken from a workout to the streets effortlessly. Comfortable and technically-advanced materials prove popular not just in the gym but also for casual everyday wear, seen on the likes of Hailey Baldwin and Kendall Jenner. The luxurious collections feature everything from bralettes to sweatshirts, shorts to jackets, sliders to trainers. Catering for men and women, Alo Yoga provides clothing and footwear to suit activities like yoga, running or lounging. The brand is well-known for their leggings, offered in simple black, soft pastel shades, bold brights and stylish prints. Every yoga need is catered for by Alo Yoga, with mats, yoga blocks and straps, gym bags, backpacks and totes available.
Looking to increasingly channel responsible ethos, Alo Yoga are 100% sweatshop free, and are working on their sustainability through use of low-water dyes in the production of their designs. Their headquarters and LA flagship store are powered by solar energy, reducing their carbon footprint. Also, Alo Gives, a non-profit foundation, was set up to help teach children mindfulness through yoga. Free, easy-to-follow videos teach children the benefits of meditation and yoga, accessed through the Alo Gives website.
With stores across the USA, in locations including San Diego and New York, Alo Yoga designs can also be found on their website. Selfridges and My Theresa stock Alo Yoga collections too.
