Equipment

Originally launched by Christian Restoin in 1976, Equipment offered ready-to-wear for the modern woman, inspired by menswear and the current styles of the time. Restoin closed the brand in 1998, though it was relaunched over a decade later, in 2010, by Serge Azria. Today, Equipment is owned by The Collected Group, LLC, and is based in Los Angeles.

With a minimalist aesthetic and androgynous approach, Equipment provides effortless, Parisian style. Timeless garments for the everyday and beyond are produced, using luxurious fabrics such as sustainable, pure silk. Clean and simple silhouettes form a laid-back yet refined style which exudes ultimate sophistication. Equipment is known for their sumptuous silk shirts which come in an array of colours and patterns to suit any mood and style, made to be versatile enough to be worn for any occasion. Aside from signature shirts, the label offers sleek dresses, expertly tailored trousers and easy knitwear of the highest quality.

Staying true to the brand’s heritage of uncomplicated yet polished style, Equipment aims to cater their wearable essentials to everyone. To better achieve this aim, the brand has launched a non-binary collection, emphasising style rather than gender constraints. The line is called ‘Them’, and produces shirts and trousers which have shed the limiting restraints of fit and sizing which has typically revolved around gender. With a range of styles, colours and patterns, the gender fluid line recognises the need for clothing to be freeing in terms of identity and gender expression.

Equipment can be found online and purchased through the brand’s website, plus Harvey Nichols, Farfetch and Net-a-Porter
