Luxottica

Starting as a metal engraver at the age of 14, Leonardo Del Vecchio began producing parts for glasses. After a while, Del Vecchio was able to open up his own factory producing spectacles, founding his company, Luxottica, in 1961. The Milan-based brand grew continuously and rapidly, and is now the global leader in the production and distribution of eyewear.

As an eyewear conglomerate, Luxottica manufactures under its own brands as well as under license for other big names. Own brands of the label include Sunglasses Hut, Ray-Ban, Oakley and Persol, producing fashion, luxury and sporting styles. From sunglasses to prescription frames, Luxottica produces eyewear for numerous designer labels, such as Bulgari, Chanel, Versace, Burberry and many more. With a distribution network which reaches over 150 countries, Luxottica manufactures and presents most of the eyewear we are familiar with today. With years of expertise in the business, it is likely that Luxottica produces the glasses we are all wearing, whether that be high-end names or glasses found at more affordable price points.
