Adidas Originals

Adidas itself was founded in 1924 by Adolf Dassler, joined later by his brother Rudolf, in Germany. Becoming hugely successful, by the late 1990’s, Adidas divided the brand into three main groups, with Adidas Originals as one of the three. This was set up as a heritage line, which focuses on the classic Adidas styles, reworking them into the modern era.

As a heritage line, Adidas Originals is more of a lifestyle brand than its activewear and sportswear counterparts. Though certainly sportswear inspired, the Originals line is more fashion-oriented, which has proved hugely popular throughout the years. The casual, streetwear inspired pieces have a retro feel to them, with bold colours and old school styles. Adidas Originals produces a wide range of pieces, including footwear, clothing and accessories for men, women and children. These designs feature the iconic Trefoil logo, and create nostalgic notions through classic athletic styles that have stood the test of time. Notable styles include trainers such as the Gazelle, Stan Smiths and Samoa

Adidas Originals has collaborated with many brand names over the years. The Adidas  x Pharrell Williams collection produced footwear and clothing for different branches of the wider Adidas brand. For Originals, the Pharrell Williams Superstar shoe was a reimagining of the well-loved Superstar trainer. The Triple Black range by Pharrell uses a monochromatic palette to create forward-thinking pieces. This stands true to the Originals brand, which draws on modern inspirations to keep classic Adidas styles current and exciting, while retaining their time-honoured designs and retro appeal.
Adidas stores are located all across the world, with Adidas Originals having their own stores in key locations too, such as Carnaby Street, London. Adidas Originals pieces are widely accessible online, through their own website and through sports retailers such as JD and Footasylum, as well as online at Net-a-Porter.
