Originating as an automobile accessories business, Alfred Dunhill Ltd. was founded in 1893 in London and named after its founder. With the increasing popularity in motor cars at the time, ‘Dunhill’s Motorities’ was established, producing car horns, goggles, leather overcoats and more. After a few years, the product lines increased, and the company turned towards the luxury market, opening two stores in London’s Mayfair. By the 1970’s, the brand evolved further, with expansion worldwide and the launch of mens ready-to-wear.
With a long history in quality production, Alfred Dunhill Ltd. is today seen as a quintessentially British brand. Known now as dunhill, the brand is owned by Richemont Holdings Limited, with Mark Weston as Creative Director.
dunhill is, today, a luxury menswear brand, encompassing ready-to-wear, accessories, bags, shoes and fragrance. With such a rich history, the company is trusted for its classic craftsmanship and sleek tailoring. Retaining ultimate British refinement, dunhill offers timeless sophistication, with a modern edge. Mark Weston keeps dunhill ever exciting by bringing fresh outlooks to enduring favourites, seen in oversized tailored jackets and chunky chelsea boots. A 2020 collection paid homage to dunhill’s automotive heritage, through its emphasis on opulent leather goods inspired by seats of classic cars, while architectural cuts gave a cool and contemporary feel to the collections. dunhill has come to represent elegance which is both rooted in classic British style, yet perfect for the modern man. The brand provides everything needed for an understated and stylish wardrobe, from soft polo shirts and trainers with leather accents to slim leg trousers, subtly printed briefcases and age-honoured brogues.
With stores throughout the world, including the iconic Jermyn Street store since 1906, dunhill collections can be found online through their website, and through Mr Porter, Matches Fashion and Yoox.
