Aquazzura was formed in 2011 by Edgardo Ossorio in Florence, Italy. With ten years experience working in prestigious luxury fashion houses, and a background in design, Ossorio’s aim was to combine beautiful shoes with wearability. Realising the uncomfortable nature of heeled shoes, Ossorio sought to create shoes which were comfortable without compromising on style. The name Aquazzura encapsulates Ossorio’s love for the sea and the sun, specifically the stunning waters of Capri, and resonates with his passion for making women feel beautiful through their footwear.

The luxury shoe brand has a signature style of femininity and modernity through strong stiletto heels, bold embellishments and statement detail. Vibrant colours and prints are used to merge contemporary styles with sophisticated design. Combatting the grievous nature of the high heeled shoe, Aquazzura is innovative in their approach, in that they look to solve the problems women face. This is exemplified by the addition of fashionable flats to their collection after understanding that women needed a shoe which could take them from day to night effortlessly and comfortably. The wearable nature of Aquazzura’s shoes does not dilute their unmistakable beauty and excellence. Instead, our notion of comfort and wearability is challenged through these elegant and striking designs.

Aquazzura launches seasonal collections, and has also produced many capsule collections with various celebrities, such as Claudia Schiffer, Olivia Palermo and Begum Khan. Poppy Delevigne’s collection with Aquazzura launched in 2015. A collection of heels, boots and flats, the designs were influenced by her travels and had a subtle celestial theme, staying true to Aquazzura’s flair for stunning design.
Aquazzura’s designs can be found in their stores in London, Miami, New York, Milan, Florence, Capri and São Paulo, as well as through their website and through Farfetch, Net-a-Porter and Harrods.
