Asics

Asics began in 1949, originally named Onitsuka Co., Ltd, manufacturing basketball shoes. The Japanese brand was founded by Kihachiro Onitsuka, and soon expanded their range to suit a variety of sports and activities. Renamed to Asics, the meaning comes from the acronym of a latin phrase: anima sana in corpore sano, which translates to ‘healthy soul in a healthy body’. Asics certainly designs with their name’s meaning in mind, producing revolutionary sportswear and becoming world-renowned for their innovative designs.
