Chloé

Gaby Aghion founded her French luxury fashion house, Chloé, in 1952. The following year, Jacques Lenoir began managing the business side of the company, so that Aghion could focus on the creative and design aspects of the brand. Chloé was launched as one of the first luxury ready-to-wear brands, with the aim of reinterpreting luxury fashion. The relaxed, modern aesthetic stood in contrast to more formal and structured haute couture at the time. This aesthetic has continued throughout the brand’s existence and through various Creative Directors. Today, this role belongs to Gabriela Hearst since 2020, and the brand is owned by the Richemont Group

Producing womenswear, bags, shoes, accessories and fragrance, as well as a childrens collection, Chloé continues an effortlessly chic style throughout all collections. Parisian-cool edge is met with bohemian accents to produce a laid-back yet stylish aesthetic with a timeless appeal. Modern femininity is produced through flowing dresses and sleekly tailored separates, embodying the clothing that women want to wear. Stunning prints are featured on blouses and wide-leg trousers, while sumptuous knitwear and easy-to-wear jeans are everyday essentials. Wearable and nonchalant, Chloé collections are considered, both in terms of design and function. Chloé bags such as the Nile and the Roy have become iconic, classic pieces designed to work from year to year, and add a polished yet nonchalant layer of style to any outfit or wardrobe.

On top of considered design, Chloé collections are increasingly considered in terms of sustainability. With clear goals for fair trade, fair sourcing, and an overall positive impact on the planet, its people and its animals, Chloé is looking to shift their practice at all levels to improve their sustainability and equality practice.

With stores across the world, in cities such as Paris, Munich and London, Chloé collections can also be found on the label’s online store. Online retailers such as Net-a-Porter, Matches Fashion, My Theresa and Farfetch stock Chloé designs.
