Clergerie

French luxury footwear brand, Clergerie, was founded in 1981 by Robert Clergerie. Right from the brand’s beginnings, Clergerie sought innovative design, shapes and fabrics, which have materialised to make the brand renowned for their inventive collections for women. Since 2017, David Tourniaire-Beauciel has been Creative Director of the brand, and with shoemaking in his family and 25 years experience in design, he continues to propel Clergerie into new directions. In 2020, the brand was acquired by French Legacy Group

With innovation integral to the brand, Clergerie gained instant recognition when they designed lace-up oxfords, a typically male shoe, for women. Uniqueness has continued to be important to the brand, and comfort has also always been key. Architectural shaped heels are interesting and avant-garde, though also designed to be comfortable and easy to walk in. The combination of expert design and high-end materials means that fashion and function can be fused to create stylish and chic shoes that are easy to wear.

As with the women’s oxfords, Clergerie mixes feminine and masculine elements throughout their collections. Their bold designs are unconventional yet effortlessly elegant, culminating in styles that prove wearable and timeless. Confident colour palettes and reinventions of classic styles take inspiration from independent women, to create firm favourites for any wardrobe. Styles from boots to brogues are distinctive yet refined. Unique heeled mules and raffia sandals are classics to the brand, and add an element of the unordinary to all outfits.

Clergerie has boutiques in many cities throughout the world, including London, Paris, Madrid and New York. Their styles can be purchased through the brand’s website, as well as through Farfetch and My Theresa
