Gottex

Luxury swimwear and beachwear brand Gottex was founded in 1956 by Lea Gottlieb in Tel-Aviv. Lea Gottlieb designed for her label until 1998, continually inspired by the colours and light of the Middle-East. These designs feature signature bold and artful prints which the brand is now known for and spiralled the label into success. Throughout the 1980’s everyone from Princess Diana to Elizabeth Taylor had been spotted in Gottex designs. In 1997, the brand was purchased by businessman Lev Leviev, and today the head of design is Keren Gasner

The colourful and flattering designs of Gottex have been a firm favourite for the beach or pool for decades. The founder wished to produce swimwear which could work easily from the sea to the cocktail bar, leading to the label’s luxurious designs. Floral and nautical prints are met with flowing kaftans in opulent colour palettes, while more simple styles with considered details are also available. With understated swimwear as well as more daring designs, there is something for everyone, with styles to instill instant confidence into every woman.

Gottex has been innovative from the start, promoting styles with extra supportive cups and being the first brand to utilise Spandex in their collections. Today, this continues, with Gottex Collection ranges featuring Italian Sensitive® fabrics. This material offers protection against the UV rays of the sun, allows less water absorption and faster drying times, and proves durable, comfortable and resilient against chlorine and sea salt. With this in mind, it is clear that Gottex considers functionality and performance as much as beautiful design.

Collections by Gottex can be found online through the brand’s website as well as through Harrods.
