Jacquemus

Jacquemus was founded by Simon Porte Jacquemus in 2009, using the founder’s surname to honour his mother. The French label was released as a womenswear brand, soon renowned for its energetic and alluring approach to design. In 2019, Jacquemus launched a much-anticipated menswear collection, following the vibrant style that the brand is known for.

The Jacquemus aesthetic is one of modern elegance met with a playful edge. Each design appears contemporary and high-fashion while effortless and unserious. Bright colour palettes have been used since the brand’s conception, met with muted tones for a more understated look. Jacquemus is also distinguished by its use of exaggerated silhouettes, playing with volume throughout collections to produce huge puffed sleeves, billowing wide legs and dramatic wide-brimmed hats. Sultry silk dresses are given interesting twists, through asymmetric lines or tie details, elevated further by statement accessories. Famous to the brand is, of course, the Le Chiquito bag, available in various colours and sizes and seen as the much-needed accessory to any outfit. Other innovative accessory designs include belts featuring an attached purse, and futuristic-style sunglasses.

In menswear, Jacquemus takes the same fashion-forward and fun approach to design. Oversize silhouettes are prominent, creating an effortlessly cool style, seen in printed shirts, loose-fit jeans and bright caps. Checkered trousers and graphic tees are finished off exceptionally with an unexpected mini-bag for day or night.

Jacquemus collections can be found online, through the label’s site and through Farfetch, Net-a-Porter and My Theresa.
