Judith Leiber

Judith Leiber was born in Hungary and moved to the USA after escaping Nazi persecution. Having worked as a handbag designer for other brands, Leiber launched her eponymous line in 1963. The label quickly became renowned for their crystal-embellished evening bags and clutches, worn by celebrities and First Ladies alike. Judith Leiber is now co-owned by Authentic Brands Group and Dee Hilfiger, the latter also acting as Creative Director for the label.

With clutch bags in the shape of french fries, martinis and frogs, Judith Leiber has always been innovative and eccentric in design. Their crystal-adorned bags are head turning pieces, making a statement at any event. Colourful and sparkling beyond measure, Judith Leiber bags are modern day treasures. Where playful and whimsical shapes such as a billion dollar note, a pineapple and a chihuahua are dramatic, the esteemed label also produces more understated designs. Simple leather clutches are crafted in neutral and jewel tones, and classic shoulder bags are given signature crystal embellishment.

Collaborating with pop artist Ashley Longshore, Judith Leiber has produced a range of bags with a pop culture style. These designs are inspired by social issues and merge the satirical nature of Longshore with the kitsch style of Leiber designs.

Judith Lieber now also produces a jewellery line in-keeping with the bold and vibrant character of the wider label. Large, multi-coloured stones adorn rings, necklaces and bracelets while quirky motifs can be found throughout. The colourful collection is joyful and luxurious, evoking the same feelings as a bag from the iconic label.
Designs by Judith Leiber can be purchased online through the brand’s online store, and through Harrods.
