Larusmiani

Guglielmo Miani founded his luxury textile brand in 1922. The label was originally known for importing and selling fine and rare fabrics of the highest quality, and Guglielmo Miani was the first to import the sumptuous vicuña fabric to Italy. By 1936, the company was growing rapidly, producing raincoats and tailor-made suits. The raincoat actually inspired the brand name, which began originally as ‘Larus’, meaning seagull in Latin, chosen because of its waterproof feathers and the freedom of the bird. When Guglielmo’s son, Riccardo Miani became manager of the company in 1973, he added the family name to the end of the brand title, thus the label became Larusmiani

Larusmiani remains family-owned today, and continues the Made in Italy principles which have been with the brand right from the start. Artisan traditions remain at the heart of the label, though Larusmiani is always seeking modern outlooks to timeless classics.

Now offering menswear and accessories, each Larusmiani piece is meticulously produced by hand by expert craftsmen. Larusmiani has been dedicated to sourcing fine materials from the outset, with a wide range of quality fabrics seen throughout collections. Merino wool, soft cashmeres and opulent velvet are staples to the brand, found in suiting and casual wear alike. Chunky and luxurious knitwear is available in an array of rich earth tones, and crisp shirts with a laid-back edge are wardrobe staples. For the ultimate luxury experience, Larusmiani produces velvet and silk robes which exude nonchalant decadence.

Larusmiani has stores in Milan, Montecarlo, Porto Cervo and Saint-Barthelemy. Their collections can also be accessed via the brand’s online store.
