Loewe

Loewe is one of the oldest luxury fashion brands still in operation to this day. The house was founded in 1846 in Madrid, by a group of leather craftsmen, who were later joined by German leathermaker Enrique Loewe Roessberg who gave the company its name that we know it by today. Producing high-quality leather goods, Loewe began catering to the Spanish royal family early on, with other high-profile clientele such as Marlene Dietrich, Ava Gardner and Sophia Loren. After over a century of success in the leather goods industry, Loewe added ready-to-wear collections to their offerings in 1965. In 1996, the iconic fashion house was acquired by LVMH, and has been under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson since 2013.

Continuing the prosperity of Loewe, Jonathan Anderson combines the rich heritage of the house with his own modern perspective. Craftsmanship has always been at the heart of the brand, and remains so to this day, with expert artisans continually celebrated since the beginning of the label. Loewe collections now span womenswear, menswear, shoes, bags and accessories, as well as small leather goods. The classic is met with the contemporary in Jonathan Anderson’s Loewe, creating an aesthetic of ultimate laid-back luxury. Iconic styles such as the Flamenco bag have been revived, while new icons such as the Puzzle bag, launched in 2015, have been created. Neutral and earthy tones come together to create refined, modern designs, seen in sleek leather separates, vintage-inspired knitwear and colour-block hoodies. Sculptural bags and logoed polo shirts meet clean-cut outerwear and oversize sunglasses for timeless style season to season.

With over 200 stores across the world, Loewe can be found from Beijing to London to Las Vegas. Their collections can also be accessed online through their own site, as well as through Net-a-Porter, Harrods and My Theresa
