Monique Lhuillier

During the search for her own wedding dress, Monique Lhuillier struggled to find a modern and elegant style for herself as well as for her bridesmaids. With this, she decided to design her own dresses for her wedding day. Those who saw her designs soon asked for their own pieces from Monique Lhuillier, leading her to launch her eponymous brand in 1996. The first Monique Lhuillier store opened in 2001, and gained worldwide recognition after producing a wedding dress for Britney Spears in 2004. Over the years the brand has grown, and now encompasses bridal, ready-to-wear, bags and shoes.

Based in Los Angeles, Monique Lhuillier combines classic sensibilities with a distinctly modern edge to produce the romantic and feminine gowns that the label has become known for. Luxurious fabrics and watercolour hues are signature to the brand, combined with impeccable details for a fairytale finish. Lavish embroidery across full, tulle skirts and off-the-shoulder gowns with dramatic puff sleeves are expected from Monique Lhuillier. Their designs have an element of fantasy to them, from floral midi-dresses to glitter handbags, each piece is decadent yet refined.

Although known for their opulent gowns, separates from Monique Lhuillier have the same elegant aesthetic, offering high-neck ruffle blouses and sleek tailored trousers, as well as sequinned suiting and embroidered capes to really make a statement. Bridal collections are, of course, where the label began, and Monique Lhuillier continues to provide beautiful choices for the modern bride, which exude a classic yet high-fashion appeal.

With flagship stores in New York City, Los Angeles and Costa Mesa, Monique Lhuillier collections can also be accessed online through their own online store, as well as through My Theresa, Farfetch and Harrods.
