Rayne

Before launching their footwear brand, Henry and Mary Rayne had already been designing impressive footwear for the theatre for many years. With this experience and expertise behind them, the duo founded their own women’s luxury footwear label in 1885. Their first store opened on New Bond Street in 1920, and over the years, the company was awarded Royal Warrants for Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, and Her Majesty The Queen. Catering to all of high society and designing for the most prestigious of names, Rayne’s clientele also included the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot and Marlene Dietrich.

In 2003, Rayne closed their company, though the brand was relaunched in 2013 by the founders’ great-grandson and through a partnership with CDivertiamo. With this, the label continues to uphold the exceptional standards which Rayne has always been known for. Each shoe is crafted in Italy from fine materials and with an exquisite attention to detail. The heritage of the house is continually honoured, mixing classic sensibilities with a modern outlook.

A traditional British quirkiness which has always been referenced in Rayne designs continues throughout collections to this day. Timeless styles and classic silhouettes are met with unexpected details, such as cut-out elements, bows, high-shine finishes and metallic hues. The brand offers pumps, loafers, boots, mules and more, meaning that every occasion is catered for. Beautiful colour palettes of rich brights, sophisticated dark tones and summery pastel hues are signature to Rayne. These vibrant tones add an element of boldness from such ladylike styles, modernising designs to suit a contemporary audience. From pointed-toe slingbacks to silver mules, Rayne shoes are versatile and enduring, perfect for adding a vintage touch to any outfit.
