Roger Vivier

Roger Vivier established his eponymous luxury footwear brand in 1937, producing shoes for fashion’s most elite. The French designer opened his first store in Paris, and throughout his career he created shoes for the likes of Ava Gardner, Queen Elizabeth II and The Beatles. His extravagant designs were treated as sculptures by Roger Vivier, and he is credited with producing the first stiletto heel in 1954. Always innovative and exciting, Roger Vivier also used rich adornment across collections, from beads and pearls to lace and appliques.
