Founded in 2015, Sophie Buhai is an eponymous fine jewellery and hair accessories brand based in Los Angeles. The label is inspired by artists such as Georgia O’Keefe and Barbara Hepworth and the minimalist style of the 1970’s, creating sculptural jewellery with a timeless appeal.
Every design from Sophie Buhai is hand crafted by local artisans in LA, using recycled materials to reduce environmental impact. Unique architectural and organic silhouettes are signature to the brand, creating modern classics which will prove wearable for generations. Day-to-day designs are seen in chunky mini-hoops, chain bracelets and domed stacking rings. The designer embraces imperfections, reflected by hammered metal details and an aim to mirror the appeal of antique finds. The label began producing in solid silver, though now also uses 18k gold and often features stones and pearls throughout collections. Bold and modern, Sophie Buhai designs are wearable art, seen in the Vessel pendant, designed to hold a flower, or the Lou Lou drop earrings with onyx stones.
