Tory Burch’s self-titled brand was launched in 2004 in New York City. Based on Burch’s own style, the label boasts a wide collection, inclduding womenswear, shoes, bags, jewellery, accessories, homeware and fragrance.
Heavily influenced by New York city, Tory Burch designs have been described time and time again as ‘preppy-boho’. The brand was often featured in hit television show Gossip Girl, and so became a firm favourite of avid watchers. This ‘preppy-boho’ description certainly fits perfectly with the brand, which optimises gorgeous bright colours and prints in a modern and interesting way. Many of the pieces bring to mind the styles of the 1960’s and ‘70’s both in their patterns and their shapes. The welding of this vintage inspiration with the classic effortless New York aesthetic produces alluring and stylish pieces. Long gowns, floral prints and puffed sleeves pay homage to decades gone by, while flowing silhouettes and stunningly tailored trousers keep the designs contemporary. Gorgeous leather bags are decorated with the iconic gold T-logo, which exudes luxury and fine design. Tory Burch designs are feminine and fun, designed to make the wearer feel confident and strong.
Tory Burch launched a sister brand, Tory Sport in 2015. It encompases activewear for a wide variety of sports.
Both Tory Burch and Tory Sport actively support the Tory Burch Foundation, which was launched to mentor and educate women for their own self-empowerment, and to help them tackle the business world facing the difficulties that women experience.
There are now over 300 Tory Burch stores across the globe, with flagships in London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Rome, Seoul and Tokyo. As well as on the Tory Burch website, these collections can be found through Harrods, Selfridges and Farfetch.
