Vitale Barberis Canonico is an Italian family-owned fabric mill which has been in production since 1663. The founder, Ajmo Barbero established the company and it has remained in the hands of the Barberis Canonico family ever since. Producing quality fabrics for centuries, the company saw huge expansion in the 1920’s, exporting their materials across the world into America, India and China, as well as throughout Europe. In 1936, the official brand of Vitale Barberis Canonico was established, and the company has since continued their reputation for producing excellent fabrics. 2013 saw the 350th anniversary of the mill, and today the company is run by the 13th generation of the family, headed by Alessandro, Francesco and Lucia Barberis

Merino wool from Australia and New Zealand, cashmere from China and mohair from South Africa are spun and woven to create luxurious finishes without exception. Their most famous material is the flannel wool cloth, known for its insulative and hard-wearing properties. Vitale Barberis Canonico also ensures that this material is soft and comfortable for everyday wear. Similarly, the mohair blend fabric is lightweight and insulative, finished experty to produce a beautiful sheen. Other cloths feature important qualities such as water resistance, soundproofing, breathability and crease resistance, allowing for ultimate wearability as well as a luxurious feel.
