Missoni

A family-run business to this day, Missoni was founded in 1953 by husband and wife Ottavio and Rosita Missoni. Their journey to worldwide success began with the opening of their first small knitwear shop in Italy, creating the first Missoni collection in 1958. With their children always involved in the company, their daughter Angela Missoni has been Creative Director of the brand since 1996. Producing ready-to-wear for men and women, including beachwear, as well as homeware under MissoniHome, the effortless multicoloured aesthetic is still visible today.

Known for their iconic zig-zag knitwear, Missoni remains true to their classic style, though Angela Missoni is always reimagining these designs, making them current and refreshing in the face of tradition. Colourful prints, stripes and patterns are given a youthful and contemporary overhaul, in wearable pieces which produce a laid back yet elegant outcome. Missoni has been described as epitomising ‘jet-set glamour’, which is exactly the feeling that the relaxed silhouettes and bohemian accents evoke. High-quality and irresistibly soft materials mix with flowing lines to create an easily stylish look. Angela wishes to make clothing realistic, focusing on wearability and comfort without compromising on style. Collections feature distinctive Missoni style in unwavering use of colour and pattern, but the laid-back nature of the clothing in their shape and style produces dresses, jumpers and trousers alike that will be worn year to year.

Missoni has stores and concessions throughout the world and their iconic designs can also be found through their own online store, as well as through Farfetch, Selfridges, Harrods and Net-a-Porter
